... who is Artie?

"Art is my only hope to survive this civilization."

They say I was born. Bullshit. It was more like a botched intergalactic pit stop, where they dumped me as useless cargo—think biological waste—somewhere in the woods. So my first buddies were wild animals and the voices in my head. Those voices still whisper that I'm just the byproduct of other, pan-galactic, smarter beings from a distant planet. After a few years hunting anything with a pulse—and learning that nothing beats the taste of a deer taken down with bare hands, and that a bear is basically just an oversized cat in a bad mood—I dove into something even more brutal: surviving in the corporate jungle. There, I got used to firing off ideas faster than Clint Eastwood and hacking unsolvable problems to pieces with a machete. And on top of that, I make art. I dissect people on canvas and paper because their bodies are a fascinating mystery to me. Every painting is a beacon. A call home. Because when I'm as famous as Warhol, maybe my people will finally notice me and come pick me up. My escape plan is clear: wave to Great A'Tuin on the way out and forget this chunk of rock ever existed. Those are my priorities. Until then, there's the other, far more annoying problem: surviving this civilization. A civilization where watching people without a shred of common sense endlessly obsess over trivialities makes you wonder if it wouldn't be faster to just send the whole thing back into the primordial soup.

Holidaymakers

  • Date: January - February 2025
  • Where: Cafe JAGA, Brno, Czech Republic
  • Description: In this exhibition, I presented a series of limited edition graphic prints created using an unconventional experimental process. I deliberately avoided my traditional linear techniques and embraced randomness. The result is works that stand out with vibrant colors and irregular lines. Some of them were further enhanced by hand, adding elements of gold, aluminum, or copper leaf. These metals emphasize the symbolic layers of each piece. For example, the use of aluminum to depict the hair of older women or men refers to the transformations associated with aging - a symbol of the passage of time. Through this approach, I aimed to invite you to a deeper reflection on the relationship between art, chance, and symbolism, and to encourage you to interpret each piece personally. I believe that each of you has discovered or will discover something personal in these works.
